T3 = 15 December (Cold)
T4 = 15 January (Cold)
T5 = 30 January (Post-cold)
(Post cold)
T6 = 15 February (Post-cold)
(Post cold)
Factor B. Seedling age:
Effect of improved water management technique and soil
stirring on the crop performance of Boro rice
st year Experiment No. 02
Treatments:
Factor A: Irrigation management
I 1 = Conventional
I 2 = 2 - 3 cm depth of water was added during irrigation just for soaking the soil than
further irrigation was added at 3 days after disappearing. It was continued from 15
DAT to P I stage than 5-7 cm standing water was kept up to hard dough stage
I 3 = 2 - 3 cm depth of water was added during irrigation just for soaking the soil than
further irrigation was added at 5 days after disappearing. It was continued from 15
DAT to P I stage than 5-7 cm standing water was kept up to hard dough stage
I 4 = 2 - 3 cm depth of water was added during irrigation just for soaking the soil than
further irrigation was added at 7 days after disappearing. It was continued from 15
DAT to P I stage than 5-7 cm standing water was kept up to hard dough stage
I 5 = 5-7 cm depth irrigation when the water level goes bellow 15 cm from ground
surface (through PVC pipe)
I 6 = 5-7 cm depth irrigation when the water level goes bellow 25 cm from ground
surface (through PVC pipe)
• The result showed that grain yield under SRI at early transplantation
(November 15) and late transplantation (After 15 January) did not performed
well, where as transplanting between November 30 to December 15
produced higher grain yield.
• Similarly, grain yield was lower when germinated seed was transplanted
after that grain yield was increased at 8 and 12 days old seedling. But yield
increasing was not reflective at 16 days old seedling.
Comment: Transplanting under SRI should be done with in December 01 to
15 with 12 or 16 days old seedling
The results indicated that higher grain yield was achieved under Irrigation I 2 and I 3 in
respect of other tested water management practice. Similarly stirring S 2 and S 3
performed higher grain yield.
