The DIN st<strong>and</strong>ards for stainless steel pipe <strong>and</strong> tube dimensions <strong>and</strong> weights are<br />
described below, together with a list of applicable DIN technical delivery st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />
DIN <strong>Pipe</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Tube</strong> Specifications<br />
❍ DIN 2462 Part 1 ‘Seamless stainless steel tubes,<br />
Dimensions <strong>and</strong> masses per unit length’. This<br />
st<strong>and</strong>ard covers austenitic, ferritic <strong>and</strong> martensitic<br />
stainless steel tubes <strong>and</strong> defines dimensions,<br />
weights <strong>and</strong> tolerances.<br />
DIN <strong>Tube</strong> <strong>Sizes</strong><br />
❍ DIN 2463 Part 1 ’Welded austenitic stainless<br />
steel pipes <strong>and</strong> tubes’. This st<strong>and</strong>ard covers<br />
welded austenitic stainless steel tubes <strong>and</strong><br />
defines dimensions, weights <strong>and</strong> tolerances.<br />
DIN 2462 <strong>and</strong> DIN 2463 tubes comply with the dimensions <strong>and</strong> weights per metre specified in ISO 1127 (see<br />
pages 5-8 to 5-14). DIN 2462 covers seamless tube from 6 mm to 406.4 mm OD <strong>and</strong> from 1 mm to 14.2 mm<br />
wall thickness. DIN 2463 covers welded tube from 6 mm to 1016 mm OD <strong>and</strong> from 1 mm to 8.8 mm wall<br />
thickness.<br />
Tolerances - DIN 2462 <strong>and</strong> DIN 2463<br />
DIN 2462 <strong>and</strong> 2463 specify the following ISO 5252 defined tolerances (see page 5-8):<br />
