The nifty decorations on this parade drum<br />
are the work of Eileen Hayes, daughter of<br />
Car Inspector John Hayes of Bensenville<br />
yard. Eileen, who is a commercial artist,<br />
formerly attended Tioga Public School.<br />
Another friend calls to congratulate John<br />
"Jack" Waldman, Sr.. stationary storekeeper<br />
at <strong>Milwaukee</strong> Shops. who checked off a<br />
birthday on May 1. Fellow employes at the<br />
shops surprised him with the cake and cigars.<br />
Jack started with the <strong>Road</strong> in 1904 and has<br />
been storekeeper since the early twenties.<br />
Mary Kay Bruns. glamour girl of the<br />
month, demonstrates the eHectiveness of<br />

Avenue Service Club rooms at <strong>Milwaukee</strong> after the Chicago-<strong>Milwaukee</strong> annual inter-city<br />
bowling match on April 11. Seventy-six bowlers-38 from each city-were entered in the<br />
tournament. which Chicago won by a small margin. Al Gerke (freight auditor's office),<br />
secretary of the Chicago league. and George Jung (locomotive shops office), secretary of<br />
the <strong>Milwaukee</strong> bowlers, headed the committee that arranged the match.<br />
