ORDINANCE NO, 195
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE WEARING OF ABBREVIATED
BATHING ROBES UPON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAYS OF THI1 CITY,
The Board of Commitiionera of the City of Ocean City d© Ordain:
Sec, 1* That it ghall b§ unlawful for any person or persons to travel
in or upon any of the atreetaf alleyi, publie boardwalk, or highways of
the City of Ocean City, in abbreviated bathing robes, suits of other
costumes of a similar nature unless a suitable robe or covering 1 ! from the
ghouiders to the knees, shall be worn over said abbreviated robes or
suits, to properly cover such person from public view.
Sec, 2, That any person or persons who ihall violate any of the provisions
of thin Ordinance, shall upon conviction thereof before a proper
officer having jurisdiction,, be subjected to a fine in any sum not exceeding-
one hundred ($100,00) dollars at the discretion of such officer
before whom said person or persona may be tried, and in default Of
payment of gaid fine, be imprisoned in the City or County jail for a
term not exceeding thirty days at the discretion of said officer, and any
repetition of any act therein prohibited on any day following such conviction
shall be deemed a new offense.
Sec* 8, That this Ordinance shall take effect at the expiration of ten
days from its final passage.
