3 Pole <strong>Cavity</strong> <strong>Combl<strong>in</strong>e</strong> <strong>Filter</strong> – EM Simulation<br />

<strong>Filter</strong> Tun<strong>in</strong>g with EM Simulation<br />

1) Tak<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>itial values from the<br />

Wenzel/Erl<strong>in</strong>ger Associates filter program, the<br />

combl<strong>in</strong>e cavity filter was modeled <strong>in</strong> Ansoft <strong>HFSS</strong><br />

9.2 fully parameterized.<br />

2) A large parametric analysis was conducted<br />

alter<strong>in</strong>g the spac<strong>in</strong>g between the resonators and the<br />

tun<strong>in</strong>g screw gaps above the resonators.<br />

3) Ansoft <strong>Design</strong>er was used to dynamically view<br />

the parametric data view<strong>in</strong>g its tun<strong>in</strong>g bar<br />

<strong>in</strong>terface. This simulated a real world environment<br />

at a test bench by adjust<strong>in</strong>g tun<strong>in</strong>g screws to a<br />

desired performance.<br />
