There were 61 state-chartered credit
unions in Georgia at year-end 2010,
a decrease of four from the previous
year.
The net decrease is attributed to one
federal credit union converting to a
state charter, one state-chartered
credit union* converting to a federal
charter, and four state-chartered
credit unions merging out of
existence during the year.

*NOTE: The Corporate Credit Union
(f/k/a Georgia Central Credit Union)
converted to a federal charter during the
year and is excluded from the figures in
