Letter from the Tournament Director
Dear Players, Parents and Spectators,
Here we go with yet a another year of our Davis Legacy Tournament Series and our inaugural
Davis Legacy Super Clasico Spring Edition. Picking a tournament date is one of the most
challenge aspects of forming a new tournament, but with over a 100 teams applied we feel we
hit the mark and it looks like it will be a perfect spring weekend here in Davis.
We want to first say happy Mothers Day out there to all our mothers, who undoubtedly make
sacrifice after sacrifice for the enjoyment of their son’s and daughters in this wonderful sport
we all take part in.
As I write this, our U17 women’s national team has just come off a 10-0 win in World Cup
qualifying in Guatemala and I read through the rosters I see some of the same names that have
graced our tournaments in the past. It will be exciting to see some of tomorrows stars starting
off their careers right here in front of our eyes.
This will be the first year our expanded complex will be in full use and I am sure you will enjoy
the pristine playing surfaces that are part of the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. We take great
pride in our attention to detail to give these young players that best chance to succeed on the
pitch.
Lastly I would like to thank our tournament volunteers, our Tournament Coordinator Maile
Quick and our referee assignor Moe Shafai, plus the countless others that make this tournament
run as smooth as possible.
