JNSTRUCTIONS
Wednesday, May 20, 1981
The Marshals will announce instructions:
1. Forming The Lires
a. Form a double lire of persons by 7:45 p.m. so that the
procession will start promptly at 8:00 p.m. Form the
front row according to the order of academic
procession.
b. Each person should have a program.
2. Marching Order
a. Processional
The graduates will precede the faculty and guests in the
procession. The two lires of the faculty and guests will
separate just inside the doors to the main auditorium.
The left line will proceed down the left aisle and the
right line will proceed down the right aisle. The
graduates will sit on the main floor. The faculty and
guests will march directly to the stage where the
Marshals will direct them to their seats.
b. Recessional
As soon as the organist starts the Recessional, the
Marshals will lead the President, the guests, and the
faculty back to the robing room. The seniors will follow.
c. MARCH IN STEP WITH THE MUSIC. DO NOT RUSH.
3. .seating
a. Those who sit on the front row will stop in front of the
chairs on which their name cards are placed.
b. Those who sit on the second and subsequent rows will be
seated by the Marshals who will approach the rows from
the outside, starting with the second r0W. Seats near
aisles with name cards are reserved for faculty assisting
in the ceremony.
