JNSTRUCTIONS<br />

Wednesday, <strong>May</strong> <strong>20</strong>, <strong>1981</strong><br />

The Marshals will announce instructions:<br />

1. Forming The Lires<br />

a. Form a double lire of persons by 7:45 p.m. so that the<br />

procession will start promptly at 8:00 p.m. Form the<br />

front row according to the order of academic<br />

procession.<br />

b. Each person should have a program.<br />

2. Marching Order<br />

a. Processional<br />

The graduates will precede the faculty and guests in the<br />

procession. The two lires of the faculty and guests will<br />

separate just inside the doors to the main auditorium.<br />

The left line will proceed down the left aisle and the<br />

right line will proceed down the right aisle. The<br />

graduates will sit on the main floor. The faculty and<br />

guests will march directly to the stage where the<br />

Marshals will direct them to their seats.<br />

b. Recessional<br />

As soon as the organist starts the Recessional, the<br />

Marshals will lead the President, the guests, and the<br />

faculty back to the robing room. The seniors will follow.<br />

c. MARCH IN STEP WITH THE MUSIC. DO NOT RUSH.<br />

3. .seating<br />

a. Those who sit on the front row will stop in front of the<br />

chairs on which their name cards are placed.<br />

b. Those who sit on the second and subsequent rows will be<br />

seated by the Marshals who will approach the rows from<br />

the outside, starting with the second r0W. Seats near<br />

aisles with name cards are reserved for faculty assisting<br />

in the ceremony.
