habitat suitability models, creating spatially explicit models of wildlife movement, delineating conservation<br />

priorities based on landscape analysis.<br />

Ecological Consultant. Raven Ridge Preserve <strong>Landscape</strong> Analysis and Management Plan,<br />

<strong>University</strong> of Vermont. January 2010 – May 2010. Inventoried, mapped, and analyzed wetlands,<br />

natural communities, wildlife habitat and use, geologic features, and human land use as part of a<br />

comprehensive landscape assessment of a 365-acre preserve owned by the Nature Conservancy.<br />

Research Assistant. Ecosystem Service Modeling: Viewshed Analysis. ARIES Team, <strong>University</strong><br />

of Vermont. January 2010 – May 2010. Developed an ecosystem service model to quantify<br />

viewshed values associated with viewpoints located within a newly created Nature Conservancy<br />

Preserve in the Chittenden County, Vermont.<br />

Wildlife Biology Intern. Wildlife Habitat Conservation on State Forest Land. Montana<br />

Department of Natural Resources and Conservation. March – August 2009. Completed a postburn<br />

wildlife survey on the Sula State Forest and a wildlife survey in timber harvest mitigation<br />

buffers for fishers on the Swan River State Forest; developed methods, collected and analyzed<br />

vegetation data and wildlife observation data, and completed comprehensive reports for each.<br />

Researched patterns of wildfire and other natural disturbance in Montana to inform layout of<br />

timber harvest units.<br />

Field Biologist. Bicknell’s Thrush and High Elevation Bird Population Monitoring, Vermont<br />

Institute of Natural Science. May 2006 – August 2006. Mistnetted, banded, and collected blood<br />

samples from Bicknell’s Thrush and other forest birds for a study researching mercury in the<br />

blood of high elevation passerines.<br />

Field Technician. Wildlife Movement Corridors Along Roadways in Northern New Hampshire,<br />

New Hampshire Audubon. October 2005 - April 2006. Conducted field surveys investigating<br />

wildlife crossings along New Hampshire roads. Field surveys included wildlife track location,<br />

identification, and trailing as well as identification of landscape feature that may act as barriers to<br />

wildlife movement. Contacted landowners and coordinated private land access.<br />

Research Assistant. Effects of Logging on Bird Communities on the Tahuayo River, Peru,<br />

Plymouth State <strong>University</strong>. September 2005. Assisted with point counts of tropical birds for two<br />

weeks in the Amazonian forests in support of a long term study investigating the effects of<br />

logging on bird communities on the Tahuayo River.<br />

Consulting writer. Natural History of the Spruce Grouse, Wildlife Management Institute. Spring<br />

2005. Authored a natural history of the spruce grouse for inclusion in the Spruce Grouse<br />

Continental Conservation Plan.<br />

Field Biologist. Common Loon Monitoring Program, Loon Preservation Committee Lake<br />

Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge. May 2005 – August 2005. Located and monitored Common<br />

Loon breeding populations. Prepared end of season reports on the loon population of Lake<br />

Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge.<br />

Research Assistant. Amphibian Disease Dynamics Among Wetlands in Acadia National Park,<br />

<strong>University</strong> of Maine/Acadia National Park Bar Harbor, ME. May 2004 – May 2005. Monitored<br />

vernal pools and wetlands in Acadia National Park for signs of amphibian disease.<br />

Field Research Assistant. Parental Behavior of White-Throated Sparrrows, Penobscot<br />

Experimental Forest, Bradley, Maine. May 2003 – August 2003. Monitored nesting birds to<br />

determine parental behavior patterns.<br />
