SOFTBALL TEAM
ADDS NEW COACH
Head softball coach Ray Vander May (above)
announced the addition of Len Glowzenski ’76 to
the coaching staff. Glowzenski comes to Seton Hall
from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
Serving as head coach at Georgian Court for the
past three seasons, Glowzenski compiled an 82-48
record. He led the Lions to a second-place finish in
the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in each
season. In addition, he coached 2005 CACC Pitcher
of the Year (Sherry Keech) and CACC Rookie of the
Year (Nicole Fortino) during his tenure.
Three decades ago, Glowzenski was a star on
the Pirates’ baseball team, helping lead them to
College World Series appearances in 1974 and
1975. He went on to pitch for the Texas Rangers.
The Pirate softball team is coming off a 29-27
mark in 2006 and won BIG EAST titles in 2004-05.
Former Pirate outfielder Caitlin White ’06 (photos
of $7,500. White, a biology major who carried a
3.96 GPA, is one of 58 NCAA student athletes who
compete in spring sports to receive the award.
To qualify for the scholarship, a student-athlete
must have a grade-point average of 3.20 (on a 4.0
scale) and must have performed with distinction
as a member of a varsity team.
