There are mighty few adults who lavish
$100 on an evening out, no matter what tney
are celebrating. Most grown people just can't
aitorri sucn a uixi>ry.
Public schools today are being scrutin-
enuclams heard ia that tney (at tho nigh
school level) have far too much "country
The expenditure of f 100 more or less for
a night on tne town certainly suggests that
tuoie critics who complain ot the unrealistic
attitude ot our pre&ent-aay educational sys-
tem have a good point.
How do you stop this over-elaborate, over-
expensive Kind of dung; it isn't up to the
hign ictiool faculty, lhese things are generally
forced on the teachers by some parents.
this is an excellent tune for them to do it
Nobody objects to sensible fun surround-
ing high school graduation, of course. But
mark that word, sensible. It is hardly sensible
for adults to arrange such high-priced parties
for very young people.
It's no wonder you and I ore frightened.
Ever since we were old enough to reason, we
"Now we see through a glass, darkly;
