Lieut. Thomas's son. Solomon, was <strong>the</strong> tirst Dr. <strong>Tracy</strong>, and<br />

for more than two hundred years, Norwich, Conn., was nc\ er<br />

without a Dr. <strong>Tracy</strong>. Dr. Solomon <strong>Tracy</strong> married. Nov. 23.<br />

1676, Sarah, daughter <strong>of</strong> Simon Huntington: she died. 16S3.<br />

Bli.ss. On an old licadstone is in.-5Ciibed, in old colonial text,<br />

<strong>the</strong> following iriscription :<br />

In this spot <strong>of</strong> earth is interred ye erthay part <strong>of</strong> Mr Solomon Trary<br />

who died July 9 1732 in <strong>the</strong> 82 year <strong>of</strong> hi.s age.<br />

Ano<strong>the</strong>r old headstone has <strong>the</strong> following inscriptioti : "The<br />

Pious beloved and very aged Mr Simon <strong>Tracy</strong> died 14 Sept.<br />

1775, in <strong>the</strong> 96 year <strong>of</strong> his age.'"<br />

Daniel, <strong>the</strong> tifth son <strong>of</strong> Dieut. Thomas, inherited ihe pater-<br />

nal homestead, in <strong>the</strong> town plot. He was twice marritd, tir^t<br />

to Abigail Adagate, second to Hannah, relict <strong>of</strong> 'i'h.oiiias<br />

Bingham. He was <strong>the</strong> fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> Daniel 'I'rac y. 2d. ol Norwich,<br />

who had a son. Samuel, also <strong>of</strong> Norwich, v.ho was erne<br />

who, in <strong>the</strong>ir otlicial capacitv. crhed trie<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> -'Townsmen ''<br />

famous town meeting <strong>of</strong> June 6. 1774, to ''provide for public<br />

defence," which is considered <strong>the</strong> fructifying germ <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

American Re\olution. lie was fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> Zebadiah Trrcy. <strong>of</strong><br />

Scolland parish, who had a son 'J'homas C. '1 racy, al.-o <strong>of</strong><br />

Scolland parish, who was <strong>the</strong> fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> Duight <strong>Tracy</strong>. M. D.,<br />

D. D. S., who is now engaged in<br />
