Mr. Tommy Wayne Foster,<br />
age 64, <strong>of</strong> Douglasville,<br />
Georgia passed away Easter<br />
Sunday, March 31, 2013 at<br />
Wellstar Cobb Hospital in <strong>the</strong><br />
presence <strong>of</strong> his loving family.<br />
He was born May 28, 1948 in<br />
Atlanta, Georgia <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> late Mr. Tony L. Foster,<br />
Sr. and <strong>the</strong> late Mrs. Reba Wood Foster. He was a<br />
veteran <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> United States Army, Co. C (Ranger) 75th<br />
Infantry, <strong>173d</strong> Airborne Brigade, serving in Vietnam in<br />
1969-1970 and was awarded two Purple Hearts along<br />
with several o<strong>the</strong>r commendations. He was Baptist by<br />
Faith. Mr. Foster was a loving husband, fa<strong>the</strong>r, grandfa<strong>the</strong>r,<br />
and great grandfa<strong>the</strong>r. He will be greatly missed<br />
by those who love him. He coached <strong>the</strong> “Georgia Girls”<br />
s<strong>of</strong>tball team for several years winning several National<br />
Championships and making many memories and friends<br />
along <strong>the</strong> way. He loved watching <strong>the</strong> Atlanta Braves<br />
and <strong>the</strong> Georgia Bulldogs. He retired as <strong>the</strong> regional<br />
manager <strong>of</strong> Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Corporation.<br />
He is survived by his loving wife <strong>of</strong> 35 years, Martha<br />
Worthan Foster; his daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Foster<br />
Clenney <strong>of</strong> Douglasville, and Lorrie and Billy Wilbanks <strong>of</strong><br />
Hiram; sons, Toby Wayne and Melissa Foster <strong>of</strong><br />
Douglasville, Joey and Renee Kilian <strong>of</strong> Douglasville and<br />
Michael and Lou Kilian <strong>of</strong> Gray, and an extended family.<br />
The family wishes to express <strong>the</strong>ir gratitude to Dr.<br />
Nishant Shr<strong>of</strong>f, Dr. John Akiki, Dr. Mohammad Anjum,<br />
<strong>the</strong> staff <strong>of</strong> Wellstar Douglas Hospital, and <strong>the</strong> staff <strong>of</strong><br />
Wellstar Cobb Hospital for <strong>the</strong>ir care and compassion<br />
during his time <strong>of</strong> illness. The family received friends at<br />
Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, on April 2,<br />
2013, with funeral services conducted on April 3, 2013<br />
from <strong>the</strong> Chapel <strong>of</strong> Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in<br />
Douglasville with Rev. Ikey Watson and Rev. Terry<br />
Worthan <strong>of</strong>ficiating. Interment was followed at<br />
Douglasville City Cemetery with military honors.<br />

The 75 th Ranger Regiment<br />
The 75th Ranger Regiment is <strong>the</strong><br />
premier light-infantry unit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
United States Army. Headquartered<br />
at Fort Benning, Ga., <strong>the</strong> 75th Ranger<br />
Regiment's mission is to plan and conduct special<br />
missions in support <strong>of</strong> U.S. policy and objectives.<br />
The four Ranger battalions that comprise <strong>the</strong> 75th<br />
Ranger Regiment are geographically dispersed. Their<br />
locations are:<br />
lst Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army<br />
Airfield, Ga.<br />
2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis,<br />
Wash.<br />
3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Ga.<br />
Regimental Special Troops Battalion, Fort Benning, Ga.<br />
The Army maintains <strong>the</strong> Regiment at a high level <strong>of</strong><br />
readiness. Each battalion can deploy anywhere in <strong>the</strong><br />
world within 18 hours notice. Because <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
importance <strong>the</strong> Army places on <strong>the</strong> 75th Ranger<br />
Regiment, it must possess a number <strong>of</strong> capabilities.<br />
These capabilities include:<br />
Infiltrating by land, sea and air<br />
Conducting direct action operations<br />
Conducting raids<br />
Recovery <strong>of</strong> personnel and special equipment<br />
Conducting conventional or special light-infantry<br />
operations<br />
