Who Benefi ts from Live-in Care?
Anyone who lives on their own, or who requires continual
or ongoing assistance and support at home on a short
or long-term basis, can benefi t from having a personal
assistant at hand within their own home.
Various chronic health conditions can limit how much an
individual is able to do for themselves, as can an acute
illness or postoperative recovery following major surgery.
The fl exibility of live-in care allows you to design your
specifi c care around exactly what you need. Although it is
24-hour care, you may just need it during the week while
your family is at work. Bluebird Care can also provide livein
care for respite breaks to allow family members time out
from the pressures of full-time care, or arrange care for a
week or two when you are discharged from hospital. We
know how important intensive support can be in the early
days of returning home following hospitalisation.
Live-In Care
Caring at home and in the community
More and more people who have chronic health conditions, or who are either recovering from major surgery or simply need
respite care, are choosing to remain in their own homes rather than opting for the only other choice available to them -
residential care in a nursing home. Live-in care provided by Bluebird Care is a realistic, affordable alternative and can be
tailor-made to suit your individual requirements or those of your loved one.
Our live-in care service provides you with a personal assistant (PA) on a 24-hour basis who lives in your home on an ongoing
basis. By having this continual support, you and your family can have peace of mind knowing that there is not only always
someone present in the home, but also that all your social and physical needs are being attended to immediately as they arise.
How Does it Work?
In very much the same way as having a daily care worker,
the care plan for live-in care would be discussed and
planned with yourself and your family members.
We would normally introduce two personal assistants to
you who would work on a rota, in order to cover all of the
24-hour shifts. For example, they may work one week on,
one week off, or they may split the week, with one PA doing
three days and the other working four days.
Regardless of how the care plan is covered, we always
look very closely at the skills and personalities of our PAs
when matching them to a customer. This is very important
from an emotional perspective. When our staff are living in
someone else’s home, we are aware that the care provided
is about emotional well-being as well as meeting the
physical needs of our customers.
