He was elected chair of the<br />

board of education of the<br />

of Winter Park, Fla., was<br />

named president-elect of<br />

the American Medical Association.<br />

He will become<br />

president of the organization<br />

in June 2010. Wilson<br />

also has served as president<br />

of the Florida Medical<br />

EMORY MEDICINE<br />

Association and chaired<br />

its board of governors and<br />

executive committee. A<br />

former chair of the American<br />

College of Physicians<br />

(ACP) Board of Regents, he<br />

received the florida Medical<br />

Association’s certificate<br />

of merit and the Laureate<br />

award from ACP.<br />

2009 Laureate Award from<br />

the American College of<br />

Physician’s (ACP) Georgia<br />

Chapter. The award<br />

is presented to members<br />

who have demonstrated by<br />

research to their community<br />

(ACOG). He is medical<br />

director of ob-gyn graduate<br />

education at Piedmont<br />

Hospital and clinical<br />

professor at <strong>Emory</strong>. He has<br />

been an ACOG member<br />

since 1980 and has served<br />

as its president and on its<br />

executive board. He is<br />

a past president of the<br />

Georgia Obstetrical and<br />

Gynecological Society.<br />

In 2007, the School of<br />

Medicine presented him<br />

with the Alumni Award<br />

of Honor.<br />

Joseph Stubbs 79M was<br />

elected president for<br />

2009–2010 of the American<br />

College of Physicians. He is<br />

an internist in Albany, Ga.<br />

He served two terms on<br />

the college’s board of<br />

regents and is chair-elect<br />

of its foundation for<br />
