2001: A child died and efforts by an <strong>at</strong><strong>to</strong>rney <strong>to</strong> pass window fall legisl<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

failed.<br />

2004: <strong>Window</strong> fall injury issue identified by OHSU’s Injury Free Coalition.<br />

Partnered with Tual<strong>at</strong>in Valley Fire & Rescue <strong>to</strong> promote Bugs Out/Kids In<br />

project in Washing<strong>to</strong>n County.<br />

2008: Continuing falls issue raises regional, st<strong>at</strong>e, and local concern.<br />

Safe Kids Policy & Educ<strong>at</strong>ion Committee revisits issue, considers<br />

legisl<strong>at</strong>ion, but determines d<strong>at</strong>a sources needed first.<br />

2008: Randall Children’s Hospital awarded Safety S<strong>to</strong>re grant and<br />

positions large effort around window safety prevention<br />

and educ<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
