ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
Mt. Kenya 2014 will be the second challenge event we have organised. Our
first was in 2010, when a group of over 60 cyclists pedalled, puffed and
perspired their way along the 450km from Nairobi to Kisumu. Christened
Making Tracks, this event proved to be a phenomenal success both in terms of
funds raised and the spirit of achievement that participants felt in being part of
a very special team.
“The whole experience was fantastic, one of the best things I've ever done. As
a group we shared an amazing sense of achievement, and visiting the projects -
seeing the charity's work in action and learning how the funds we raised were
helping children - made it extra special."
Catherine Cain, Making Tracks 2010
As with Making Tracks, some of our founding Trustees will be taking part and
not only will participants get the chance to scale Africa's second highest peak
but you'll get to visit some of KOP's projects to see first-hand how your
fundraising is making a real difference to the lives of thousands of children in
Western Kenya.
The passionate involvement of our trustees; this sense of teamwork; working
together to overcome a challenge; and actually having the chance to meet
some of the children your money is supporting - is what makes every KOP
experience so personal, emotional, rewarding and unique. Mt. Kenya 2014
promises to be so much more than just climbing a mountain.
