Preface Brämhult i september 2008 Lennart Daun Ordförande i Sveriges Filatelist-Förbund Is there any collector of Swedish postage stamps, who have not seen the 10 öre postage stamp in red, depicting King Oscar II in left profile? – Probably not, the copperplate recess in value 10 öre is the most common Swedish postage stamp ever printed. The total edition of that particular value was more than 1.1 billion stamps. As usual as the stamp is, as unusual is the fifth exhibit here published in the XpoNAT-serie. For all in Sweden, who buy stamps to our collections at exhibitions, fairs and auctions, for us is the name Magnus Gartrup very well-known and he is often seen as stamp dealer. For those of us who also study the exhibits displayed at exhibitions, we have also been able to see what a skilful collector and merited exhibitor Magnus is. At the national exhibition in Borås, BOFILEX 07, his exhibit with the title ”King Oscar II 1885-1911” was the best in show and for that his exhibit was the 19 th in line to get the title engraved in the POSTILJONEN challenge prize, ”Silverryttaren”. Magnus’s exhibit with the issues of King Oscar II is presented in the prologue, for which I would like to thank Jan Berg, our Swedish Bureau member of the F.I.P. commission for traditional philately. But above all, I want to thank Magnus Gartrup, who through this publishing, lets us all take part of his exhibit. With this we get the opportunity to study a unique collection, which deals with a interesting period in Swedish philately.
