'In a basement,' she whispered even more quiet. And she withdrew deep<br />

within herself, fighting against <strong>the</strong> odor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> liquid that <strong>the</strong>y had poured<br />

over her.<br />

And <strong>the</strong>n when he wanted to ask more, she shook her head.<br />

'I want to go home,' she begged. Away from those horrible memories.<br />

But Chrissie didn't leave her head anymore.<br />

Her screams, her begs for help... Tiu [Regina's murdered <strong>child</strong>]. Everything<br />

came toge<strong>the</strong>r that week, as if time was something malleable, and<br />

became alive again as soon as <strong>the</strong> images were recalled.<br />

My son, whom I had cherished; Chrissie who soon <strong>the</strong>reafter was<br />

gruesomely punished; <strong>the</strong> screaming in my head. <strong>The</strong> madness I had felt<br />

in <strong>the</strong> days after. <strong>The</strong> madness that had started when <strong>the</strong>y... but I refused<br />

information with him, but could not speak... stubborn, frightened,<br />

evasive, he pushed <strong>the</strong> questions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> BOB <strong>of</strong>ficers away. Only through<br />

<strong>the</strong> support <strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r alters, who listened along and were located close to<br />

him, it was possible for Kenny, stammering and rambling, to tell his story."<br />

A sniff <strong>of</strong> extreme <strong>abuse</strong><br />

DID was created in X1 because <strong>of</strong> her background <strong>of</strong> extreme <strong>abuse</strong>. But<br />

what did this <strong>abuse</strong> actually involve?<br />

First <strong>the</strong>re was <strong>the</strong> psychological aspect. X1 never received any support or<br />

love from her parents, her grandmo<strong>the</strong>r, Tony or any <strong>of</strong> her <strong>abuse</strong>rs.<br />

Especially Tony and <strong>the</strong> grandmo<strong>the</strong>r, who acted as her pimps,<br />

indoctrinated X1 with <strong>the</strong> belief that she was a nobody, that besides Tony<br />

nobody cared about a "little whore" like her, that she was too stupid to<br />

become anything else than a prostitute, and that "love" is something you<br />

never get for free.<br />

Fur<strong>the</strong>rmore, X1 was blamed for just about anything that happened to
