Project description Overkapping Barendrecht - Observator Instruments

Within this project all parameters which are measured
should be offered to a PLC which had to control
the complete Electro-mechanical installation.
The wind speed and direction outside of the tunnel
was measured by an ultrasonic wind sensor, which
is installed on a 10 meter high mast. The actual
wind speed and direction is indicated on a display
OMC-138 that was installed in one of the doors of
the electrical cabinet. This unit is used for the fire department
to see what wind direction is blowing in
case of emergancies. The display is provided with
two 4..20 mA outputs containing the information
on wind speed and direction.
Further temperature and humidity is offered to the
PLC.
At all the tunnel ends an ultrasonic wind sensor is
installed. These units were also provided with 4..20
mA outputs. Further the sensor was equipped with
a RS422 communication port. This signal was also
wired into the electrical cabinet. A RS422/RS232
converter was installed for maintenance services
only. Communication to the sensor can be established
without entering the tunnel.
Besides the delivery and commissioning of the system
Observator takes care of the yearly
maintenance of the system.
