This report is part of a series of 21 country reports analysing the implementation of the CBD with a focus on forests. All country reports, as well as a synthesis report compiling and analysing the outcome of the 21 country reports, are available at www.fern.org. Fern has been commissioned to co-ordinate and carry out this research by the Global Forest Coalition. Fern is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that aims to improve European Union policies and practices in order to achieve conservation and sustainable management of forests and respect for the rights of forest peoples. The Global Forest Coalition (GFC) is a group of NGO’s and indigenous peoples organizations (IPO’s) that aim to facilitate the informed participation of NGO’s and IPO’s in intergovernmental processes relating to forests, such as the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
