FLIR Thermal Imagers
for Ground Law Enforcement and First Responders

PATROLIR PRO
PATROLIR PRO
The PatrolIR Pro is a thermal imaging system designed for use on a variety of law enforcement
vehicles, from patrol cars to larger command vehicles. Its thermal camera lets officers see
clearly enough to conduct pursuit and surveillance actions in total darkness.
PatrolIR Pro is a compact, multi-sensor thermal and visible light imaging system with an
integrated pan/tilt mechanism that lets officers scan 360° without leaving their vehicle. This
small pan/tilt system features a color Sony TV camera and a powerful thermal camera with a
35mm lens and a 2X e-zoom feature.
PatrolIR Pro is the perfect addition to command vehicles that use mast-mounted cameras for
security, surveillance, and event security. It’s also the ideal fit for law enforcement applications
that demand compact size and rugged performance; PatrolIR Pro can detect a man-sized target
from more than 3,000 feet away. PatrolIR Pro delivers crisp thermal and long-range daylight/
lowlight imagery, all in a compact package. Operators can switch quickly between sensors for
constant situational awareness.

PATHFINDIR LE
The PathFindIR LE is a compact thermal imager that allows officers to see in total darkness:
up to four times farther away than they can with their headlights. It also lets officers see clearly
through smoke, allowing them to respond safely to brush or tunnel fires.
PathFindIR LE can see man-sized targets from over 1,000 feet away, giving officers more time
to react during pursuits, and enhancing their surveillance capabilities.
Emergency vehicles travel at high speeds, so they take longer to stop and are more likely to
get into an accident. PathFindIR LE helps drivers of these vehicles see hazards from farther
away, giving them more time to react and reducing the likelihood of an accident, saving lives
and property.
PathFindIR LE is available in kit form or as a camera only module. It’s compact and mounts easily
behind grilles or on light bars.
FLASHSIGHT
FLASHSIGHT
FLIR’s compact, affordable FlashSight is a lightweight, hand held thermal imaging scope that
allows officers to see in total darkness, through fog, smoke, and most obscurants. FlashSight
makes officers more effective at nighttime pursuit and surveillance, while enabling them to see
things like drugs and guns that suspects may throw away.
Officer safety is the #1 priority. FlashSight helps officers stay safe by seeing the suspect’s body
heat. When an officer searches for a suspect with a flashlight or searchlight, the suspect knows
where you are and where you are looking. This can make it easier for the suspect to escape; it
can even make you a target. With FlashSight, officers can see the suspect they’re looking for
before the suspect can see them, increasing officer safety.
FLIR’s FlashSight uses the same technology that airborne law enforcement crews use to
support you overhead. With FlashSight you can quickly identify recently parked cars, and find
objects discarded at a crime scene. It provides “instant-on” imaging capability, and only needs 4
commercially available AA batteries to operate; it will run 7 hours with Lithium cell batteries.

What is IR?
Thermal imagers make pictures from heat, not light; detecting and displaying the minute
differences in heat energy that are around us all the time.
Day and night, in good weather and bad, everything gives off thermal energy. What’s more, the
hotter something is the more thermal energy it gives off. FLIR imagers use this energy to make
pictures that look like black and white TV video.
Because everything generates heat, thermal cameras can see as well at night as they can
during the day. What’s more, thermal energy passes through many obscurants including
smoke, dust, and light fog better than visible light. Visible light detectors (like our eyes) are not
very useful at night or in poor weather without the help of lights. FlashSight, PatrolIR Pro, and
PathFindIR LE don’t have this problem.
Why FLIR?
FLIR, the largest commercial infrared company in the world, provides military-hardened
products at commercial prices. We control the design, production, quality and supply of all
components vital to our thermal imaging systems: detectors, coolers, optics and lasers. No one
else can say that.
FLIR designs and manufactures all of these critical components here in the USA. This
ensures fast service support, and keeps unplanned component obsolescence – or problems with
suppliers – from leaving you high and dry. FLIR is the risk-free solution.
