22 RECOVER Recovery Plan Prepare a Recovery Plan to be used once you have responded and dealt with the immediate issues (using the Response Plan) and have time to stop and consider how the building is going to get back to normal. The main objectives are to: Ensure the safety of all those in the building Reduce the damage to the collection and building (this will also reduce costs) Record the damage for insurance and record keeping purposes Stabilise the environment Save as much of the collection and building as possible Return to normal activities as soon as possible.
