amp r plasmid. In contrast, kan r gene product remains in the cell and cannot confer Kan r to neighboring
cells.

through the skin. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with copious amounts of water and
discard contaminated clothing. PMSF is requires alcohol (isopropanol) for solubility while AEBSF is
water-soluble and is supposedly non-toxic.
DTT and/or 2ME and any metal chelating agents (EDTA) must not be used when using Ni-Agarose affinity
chromatography (i.e., the HIS fusion system).
