“The staff h<strong>as</strong> worked so hard in getting the rooms set back<br />
up after doing a complete overhaul, from hanging photos to<br />
putting in the new furniture, they have just done an amazing<br />
job,” said Barkley.<br />
The Schriever School Age Program, located inside of the<br />
CDC also got an upgrade with the creation of the preteen<br />
room for children ages 9-12.<br />
“While doing the upgrades we set <strong>as</strong>ide a room specifically<br />
for preteens age 9-12, in the school age program,” said Parks.<br />
“This way they have a space for themselves that is away from<br />
the younger school-age students.”<br />
Children currently in the school age program helped with<br />
the creation of the room.<br />
“Our current goal is to grow the school age program,” said<br />
Barkley. “That starts with giving those students their own<br />
room they helped design.”<br />
The upgrades wrapped up in October and all students and<br />
staff are back to normal operations.<br />
“This is just another way that we work hard to create a<br />
safe and fun environment for the children,” said Barkley.<br />
“That’s what is important, that the children are in a safe<br />
environment so that the parents can go to work and have<br />
their mind fully on the mission at hand.”<br />
