needs little sleep, for he dreams while
Our worthy president, Rick Carlson, wrote
the following letter to Abby which we hope
will relieve the minds of all the members of
the Class of'45:
"Dear Abby:
I refer to your note in the column of
March 29, 'Confidential to Cornell '45'
in which you relate that one of our
classmates has propounded that he is
'irresistible to all women.'
As president of the Cornell Class of
1945, and on behalf of the more than
400 members* I question your right to
put so many on the spot because one of
our group (How we wish we knew who)
unfortunately wrote to you. In most of
your 'Confidentials,' you certainly are
a lot more discreet than you were in this
case. Our executive committee will meet
shortly to decide what measures should
be taken to clear the good name of Cornell
'45.
As a class, we have never had the
reputation of being shy or shrinking
violets when it came to females and we
do subscribe to the old saying that there's
something to be said in favor of having
passed 40 when women may still be interested
in you but the army isn't-but
'irresistible' - NEVER!
Cordially,
