David A. McBride is director of research<br />

administration at the <strong>University</strong> of Rochester.<br />

With his wife (Patricia Shotwell) and<br />

three children (the oldest boy may be at<br />

the <strong>University</strong> of Virginia by now), Dave<br />

lives at 2159 Westfall Rd., Rochester 18.<br />

Ex-Widow business manager, Bill Hopple<br />

heads the lower school of Cincinnati Country<br />

Glogau was twice selected outstanding faculty<br />

member by the students of Oregon<br />

College of Education where he is dean of<br />

students. The Glogaus live at 270 Walnut<br />

St., Monmouth, Ore. Paul E. Illick is principal<br />

of La Grange Elementary School, and<br />

head of his own army of five children at<br />

1836 Ohio St., Modesto, Calif.<br />

Then there is George E. Reed of 20 Park<br />

Ave., Larchmont, who is assistant professor<br />

of surgery at NYU Medical Center.<br />

David D. Thompson, associate professor<br />

of medicine at <strong>Cornell</strong> Medical Center,<br />

writes that he occasionally sees Dick Fricke,<br />

vp and general counsel of Mutual of New<br />

York. Dave lives at 11 Creston Ave., Tenafly,<br />

N.J., with Mrs. Thompson, David Jr.,<br />

Richard, and Catherine. Assistant Clinical<br />

Professor of Pediatrics Arthur J. Newman<br />

teaches at Western Reserve and lives at<br />

2900 W. Park Blvd., Shaker Heights 20,<br />

Ohio.<br />

Not all our medicos teach. Josh Hurwitz<br />

treats the good folk of Waltham and lives<br />

with his family, including four children, at<br />

29 Mayflower Rd., Chestnut Hill 67, Mass.<br />

Carl R. Blanche resides and practices at<br />

1457 Nottingham Way, Trenton 9, N.J.,<br />

which is interesting since my yearbook<br />

shows that he started out to be a civil engineer.<br />

Dr. Philip T. Goldenberg of 95 Brewster<br />

Rd., Hartford, Conn., supports a wife and<br />

three children in the Hartford area. George<br />

M. Longhothum, MD, 1440 Prospect Ave.,<br />

Plainfield, N.J., lists among his honors:<br />

George, 14; Elizabeth, 13; Orrin, 11;<br />

Louise, 10; LeRoy, 8. Jack J. Schwartz is<br />

a pediatrician in Maplewood, N.J., with<br />

two children of his own.<br />

Ave., Mt. Vernon. Harold A. Eby, DDS,<br />

response to her cards and I now have some<br />

news so here we go. Mrs. Warren W.<br />

Hardy (Margaret Fredenburg), 1216 Mead<br />

Rd., Binghamton, is chairman of the math<br />

department at Chenango Valley Junior-<br />

Senior High School. Mrs. Fay McClellend<br />

(Phyllis Dittman), 2501 Owego Rd., Vestal<br />

says there is "life in the old girl yet."<br />

She was back on campus last spring and<br />

joined the chimesmaster in playing the<br />

music of Dick Lee '41 for two bellmen.<br />

Mrs. Robert Underwood (Nancy Jessup),<br />

PO Box 133, Manchester, Tenn.,<br />

writes that her oldest is a sophomore at<br />

Stanford and hopes to take graduate work<br />

at <strong>Cornell</strong>. The Underwoods have a second<br />

son who is a junior in high school, and<br />

another in fifth grade. Mrs. Raymond Liddie<br />

(Joan Royce), RD 1, Waterford, has<br />

two children, has been teaching in Albany,<br />

and is also attempting to finish her Master's<br />

at Albany State. Mrs. James B. Ray<br />

(Mary Jo Borntrager), 6 Dartmouth Rd.,<br />

Cranford, N.J., has three daughters. Mrs.<br />

Minter J. Westfall Jr. (Margaret Shepherd),<br />

1616 N.W. Seventh PL, Gainesville,<br />

Fla., writes that her husband is teaching<br />

and counseling and carrying on research<br />

under an NSF grant. They have a son, 16,<br />

who will be working at the medical school<br />

this summer. Mrs. Thomas C. Adee (Peg<br />

Valek), Camel Hollow Rd., Huntington,<br />

writes that their oldest, Diane, is a freshman<br />

at Duke; three boys are at home, and<br />

husband Tom works for Grumman Aircraft.<br />

Mrs. Francis R. Bruce (Priscilla Slimm),<br />

116 Euclid Cir., Oak Ridge, Tenn., is<br />

bringing daughter Cynthia, 16, to Reunion.<br />

Mrs. John M. Keane (Nina Fenson),<br />

68 West End Ave., Binghamton, is<br />

a counselor of girls at Binghamton North<br />

Senior High School. Susan, daughter of<br />

Mrs. John H. Klitgord (June Gilbert), 24<br />

E. Main St., Lima, will be at <strong>Cornell</strong> in<br />

home economics next fall. Mrs. Thomas<br />

Johnson (Barbara Larabee), 126 Dorset<br />

Rd., Syracuse 10, didn't say if the kittens<br />

she took home from the Bradleys are still<br />

playing with her five children but she has<br />

been busy with family and community<br />

activities and hopes to be on hand for Reunion.<br />

Mrs. James S. Lakis (Peggy Dilts),<br />

68 Washburn Ave., Wellesley Hills 81,<br />

Mass., had an African student visit at their<br />

home for a month last summer. Peg's<br />

husband is manager of the education and<br />

training department at Polaroid; they have<br />

two children.<br />

Mrs. Wilson MacGown (Lucille Jenks),<br />

7 Townley Dr., Burnt Hills, spent January<br />

to March in Florida where her son is in<br />

school. She hopes to bring her daughter to<br />

Reunion. Mrs. Donald V. Schworer (Mary<br />

Foster) is back in the States after years in<br />

the Philippines and now lives at 3 Cedar<br />

Dr., BriarclifT Manor. Mrs. Frederick T.<br />

Bean (Mary Close) writes that after seven<br />

boys they had a girl in October.<br />

Mrs. Louis Conti (Dottie Kellogg), 648<br />

Dunton Rd., Arlington Heights, 111., was in<br />

Ithaca and stopped to visit last summer.<br />

She has six children, 3 through 17, and<br />

hopes to get back for Reunion. Mrs. Daniel<br />

Jones (Wilma Harris), has moved to 103<br />

Bowman Dr., Greenwich, Conn. Mrs.<br />

Harry W. Keely (Jane Bartholomae) has a<br />

new address, 333 E. 55th St., New York 22.<br />

Mrs. George R. Poor (Gladys Haslett), 18<br />

Gregory St., Marblehead, Mass., has three<br />

children.<br />

Mrs. Robert Hewett (Sallie Atlas),<br />

93 Carthage Rd., Scarsdale, has two<br />

daughters, is doing substitute teaching, and<br />

will arrive in Ithaca with Edy Newman<br />

Weinberger (the class president is scheduled<br />

to return from Europe and make the<br />

trip. Gladys Molyneux has a new address,<br />

1563 Warner Rd., Meadowbrook, Pa. Mrs.<br />

William C. Staehle (Clara Mosmann), 24<br />

Castle Dr., Wayne, N.J., has three sons<br />

and expects the oldest to enter <strong>Cornell</strong> in<br />

1965.<br />

I have had a great deal of help typing<br />

this. Daughter Cindy, now 18 months, is a<br />

busy bee. Jonathan, Cindy, and I plan to<br />

fly to Montevideo, Uruguay, as soon as<br />

Ithaca High School graduation is over.<br />

Russ '42 has been in that South American<br />

country since Sept. 30, 1962, helping to set<br />

up a seed program on a United Nations,<br />

FAO assignment, but I hope to see you all<br />

in June.<br />

The Reunion steering committee met at<br />

Art Kesten's hacienda in Connecticut and<br />

took further steps toward organization. We<br />

will meet again in New York in midsummer,<br />

and shortly after that you will get<br />

notices; but start planning now. Plan also<br />

for the cocktail party after the Princeton<br />

game in the Princeton Firehouse, Oct. 26.<br />

A sad note is the death on March 9 of<br />

Vinton N. Thompson, director of the Division<br />

of Markets, New Jersey Department<br />

of Agriculture at the age of 40. He is survived<br />

by his wife (Iris Marie Coville), a<br />

son, Vinton N. Ill, and two daughters,<br />

Lydia and Patricia.<br />

Wilson Jr. comes word that he has been<br />

appointed to assistant coordinator of data<br />

processing systems for Standard Oil Co. of<br />

Indiana. He lives in Wilmette, 111., with<br />

wife Lois and their three boys and two<br />

girls.<br />

Edward W. King, practicing law in<br />

Ithaca, writes that he "hasn't yet earned<br />

enough at private practice in Ithaca to get<br />

moving expenses out of town." William S.<br />

Wheeler, Lost Dutchman Dr., Scottsdale,<br />

Ariz., has been with Motorola for 16 years.<br />

He's VP and general manager of the Military<br />

Electronics Division; says it means<br />

"too much traveling."<br />
