Little wonder that there I* deep
resentment, anger and disappointment
oier the news that tbe Inadequate
and antiquated bridge is to
be used, that the Parkway from
there South to to be narrowed to one
Thai something will have to be
done — and quickly —by Cape May
County resorts regarding seasonal
shown by the past season. And, to
quote a papular phrase, "We ain't
seen nothing, yet*.
State Highway Commissioner Rani
vice chairman of the Parkway
Authority, last month told a group
of newspaper publishers that traffic
engineers, following a recent survey,
estimated that 600.000 more motor
vehicles will come to Cape May
Codnly In MM than were here this
year,
Commenting on the situation, Mr,
England said that
'there is net
who are interested, to do something
QUESTION TO CONSIDER
(Gape May Star and Wave)
Giving Its unqualified endorsement
to the fluoridation of communal
water supplies, the Cape May County
Medical Society recently touched
off a subject that has been considered,
discussed and In many Innances
promptly dropped ln the past
few years, it Is a subject that merits
serious and Intelligent consideration
and one that should not be lightly
tossed' aside.
All over the county, more and
more communities are Installing the
necessary facilities to treat their
water supplies with fluorine as a
public health project.
Experiments
and practical application have proved
beyond doubt the beneficial effects
of fluoridation in lessening tooth decay,
especially In children.
Unfortunately in many communities
the question of fluoridation has
been the source of Interminable
wrangling and argument with the
forces pro and con marshaling all
sorts of pressure. In tame cues,
the argument In became a major
Issue that has been fanned into flame
by many wholly Irrelevant Ideas and
arguments with the result that the
basic Issue has been lost In the
scramble.
With the Medical Society having
taken a stand on a matter that concerns
the health of the general public
and with a good deal of private
sentiment In favor of fluoridation,
the subject will noon be faced by
every governing body in the county.
Note—The bitterness and dlsappointment
voiced by The
Leader over the prospects of a
dual highway, is understandable
Vei, after hearing the explana
Wlldwood's own senator CaHero
here last «-eek, we can appreciate
the reason. He said that
rising costs have cut millions
build the Parkway, The Author.
Ity therefore, according to ihe
senator, had no choice but to
