AAH, Happy memories of kids long since gone. I am
sure most of us have a nostalgic, funny or magic moment
captured on camera of our furry kids.
This one is - on the left Beychief Tempest CD and
Kittwell Dusty Scorpio CDX. TDX. a mother daughter
team who joined ranks to raise a litter rejected by their
mum after a caesarian section.
Dusty had milk and adopted the tiny puppies and a few
days later, daughter Tempe came into milk and wanted to
help.
Both these dogs worked in palliative care bringing joy to
many. Some of Tempe's ashes were buried with a patient
who loved her.
Mother and daughter shared nursing duties, swapping
puppies from time to time. It was a lot of fun and the end
result is we permanently "adopted" Tara from the litter.
She went on to become Ch Loramax Taja Euclase CDX
TDX and in 2001 was awarded The Royal Canine
Council of NSW's Hero Of The Year for her work in
Palliative Care.
All have since crossed the Rainbow Bridge, breaking
hearts in the process. But Shepherds are addictive and
whilst wonderful kids cannot be replaced, we tend to all
go and get another one, or two, or more.
How many of you have special memory piccies to share
with the rest of us Shepherd addicts?
PS Loved the Noah story, that one will always be
remembered.
