admitted it to the Union as the 28 th state.<br />
This occurred in 1845 and it involved both<br />
the United States and Mexico because this<br />
event caused the United States to inherit<br />
Texas’ border dispute that they had with<br />
Mexico which, consequently, led to the<br />
Mexican-American War.
