This report covers the May 11 and June 28 Board teleconferences.<br />
The Board continues to look into viable options for electronic voting and registration.<br />
We have been offered the use of a system managed by ORISE for DOE-HSS<br />
which appears to have more flexibility and reliability than the “free” services we<br />
had been trying. Test registrations using this system will be tried in July and, if<br />
successful, used for general registration for the fall meeting.<br />
Options for the spring 2012 meeting were discussed in both May and June. We<br />
had contacted the DOE Kansas City Plant, but they are not able to host us at that<br />
time. Two other options are now being explored.<br />
Voting earlier this year on the Research Needs white paper on alternative medical<br />
testing procedures drew negative comments from a few voters that have not<br />
yet been resolved. A meeting of the concerned parties (either in person or by<br />
webinar) will be arranged to resolve the issues.<br />

Kathleen Noonan made available the services of a technical editor (much appreciated!)<br />
to polish the Med/Epi white paper, which should be available for membership<br />
voting in the near future.<br />
Note: BHSC Board teleconferences are normally held on the third Tuesday of<br />
each month at 11 AM Eastern time. In May, the teleconference was held on<br />
Wednesday, May 11, to avoid conflict with the AIHA conference. Board calls are<br />
open to anyone interested.<br />

MEETING LOCATIONS<br />
Locations for the 2012 meetings (Spring and Fall) and the Spring 2013 meeting are<br />
now being arranged. The Fall 2012 meeting will include the Fourth International Symposium<br />
on <strong>Beryllium</strong> Particulates and Their Detection.<br />
Fall meetings are typically in the western U.S<br />
Spring meetings are typically in the eastern U.S. (or at AWE).<br />
Locations typically need to be at a DOE, DoD, or AWE site.
