Top quality that is tested
with hawos flour mills
Grinding attachments are responsible for that
little extra. Mills with steel cone grinders
apply cutting and frictional forces, but only
nearly achieve the fineness of stone grinders.
Stone grinders shell kernels from the outside
in and then gently grind them. hawos flour
mills use extremely hard grindstones made of
compressed, baked corundum-ceramic
composite. They are resistant to debris and
deliver ideal, consistent grinding results.
No mill leaves our premises
until it has passed
Every single hawos mill undergoes visual,
acoustic and technical testing as part of our
quality controls.
The grinding attachment is also adjusted as
part of the final inspection. For this, wheat is
ground; at the customer’s request – e.g. in
the case of a gluten allergy – corn is also
used.
If at least 90 % of the mill feed passes
through a lab sieve with a mesh size of
0.315 mm on the finest setting, the grinding
attachment and settings are fine – only then
are we satisfied.
Only once the quality tests have been
passed, is the mill dubbed “hawos flour
mill”.
