Three billion to go<br />

fanner who knew no English pulled<br />
M,r. Morgan's car out of a quag·<br />
mire.<br />
In March Mr. Morgan flew to<br />
Singapore, where he joined a cruise<br />
through Indonesia to Australia <strong>and</strong><br />
New Zeal<strong>and</strong>. As he boarded the ship<br />
the traumatic memories of his last<br />
voyage by ship flashed through his<br />
mind .<br />
Hospital Case<br />
En route from New Zeal<strong>and</strong> to En·<br />
gl<strong>and</strong> almost two years earlier. Mr.<br />
Morgan had taken sick .<br />
~fter his arrival in Engl<strong>and</strong> he was<br />
rushed to a St. Albans hospital with a<br />
bad case of pneumonia. One lung<br />
was full of fluid <strong>and</strong> the other begin·<br />
ning to fill. But after anointing. his<br />
lungs cleared <strong>and</strong> within a few days<br />
he had completely recovered.<br />
This lime the voyage was trouble·<br />
free. ,<br />
In Indonesia Mr. Morgan saw ex·<br />
treme poverty,<br />
"That reaJly opened up my eyes to<br />
the totally ugly conditions in which<br />
so many must exist," he com·<br />
mented.<br />

been visited by an ocean liner since<br />
World War II. Mr. Morgan jour·<br />
neyed inl<strong>and</strong> as far as he could <strong>and</strong><br />
was thronged by children who had<br />
never seen a white man, He made<br />
some friends lhere <strong>and</strong> has since received<br />
postcards from them, inviting<br />
him back to visit.<br />
After spending the Days of Un·<br />
leavened Bread in Sydney, Australia,<br />
Mr. Morgan arrived back in<br />
Auckl<strong>and</strong> in early April. With him<br />
were 1,000 slides, 27 cassettes <strong>and</strong><br />
.. tons of unforgettable memories."<br />
Of his memories, the most important,<br />
he said, is that of the people he<br />
met. Tours through 47 U.S. states<br />
<strong>and</strong> many other countries brought<br />
-him to many churc~ areas, where he<br />
had made many acquaintances.<br />
" 1 want to say a big thank-you to<br />
everyone who helped me," he said.<br />
Mr. Morgan is now in Wellington,<br />
New Zeal<strong>and</strong>, saving <strong>and</strong> planning<br />
for his next trip to Australia. the<br />
U.S.A. again, <strong>and</strong> " who knows<br />
where. ,.<br />
"1 love meeting people. t. he said.<br />
•'Travel has enabled me to meet hun-<br />
. dreds of interesting personalities.<br />
But I still have nearly three billion<br />
more 10$0. So that's why I want to be<br />
on the road again.'"<br />
