<strong>USS</strong> <strong>ENTERPRISE</strong> COMMAND HISTORY 1981<br />

(2) CR and CS Divisions implemented a new professional<br />

qualification standard (PQS) program. This program was<br />

promulgated by the Chief of <strong>Naval</strong> Education and Training and<br />

entitled "CV/<strong>CVN</strong> RM PQS".<br />

(3) <strong>ENTERPRISE</strong> radiomen conducted exercise and drills<br />

with the <strong>USS</strong> CAMDEN and the <strong>USS</strong> FLINT. <strong>ENTERPRISE</strong> radiomen were<br />

assigned TAD to the <strong>USS</strong> O'CALLAHAN to assist during equipment<br />

testing at the sea trials due to severe personnel shortages on the<br />

<strong>USS</strong> O'CALLAHAN.<br />

(4) The communication guard was shifted to the NTCC<br />

Puget Sound, WA for a one month period during a post-overhaul test<br />

and inspection of electronics equipment.<br />

(5) Traffic volume remained light. An average of 22<br />

outgoing and 173 incoming messages were handled per day with a<br />

monthly average of 5068 messages handled per month.
