2010 is 83rd Season for High School Golf
Since 1928 the IHSAA has sponsored a State Golf Tournament, making the 2010 State Meets the 83rd in
the history of the organization. The State Meet went to two classes in 1959, and to three in 1977. A fourth
class was started 1982. From 1986-1993 schools could also play for a title in the fall, but in 1994 the Class 4A
schools could only compete in the fall.
Our research continues, as we endeavor to expand this book from previous years. We are still in need of
player’s names especially those of championship teams from 1928-1944. There were two separate State
Tournaments in 1940 and 41 - one on the spring and the other in the fall.
It is always the goal with all of our publications to be as accurate as possible. If you discover an error in

MISSION
“The Iowa High School Athletic Association serves its member schools and students by providing
leadership and support for education based interscholastic athletics that enrich the
educational experience of the student athlete.”
PURPOSE
“To promote, develop, direct, protect, and regulate amateur interscholastic athletic relationships
between member schools and to stimulate fair play, friendly rivalry, and good sportsmanship
among contestants, schools,and communities throughout the state.”
