Summary: Kate and Ben travel to Lake Tahoe to settle a jurisdictional dispute<br />

only to find out that a long unsolved murder is at the heart of the<br />

matter.<br />

The episode begins with two lawyers<br />

arguing with Kate looking on. Leonardo<br />

then comes in to say something to Kate,<br />

but just then everyone freezes, except<br />

Kate. She then sees everyone outside is<br />

also frozen on their tracks. Just then she<br />

sees a huge wave coming in and shattering<br />

her window, and next wakes up from<br />

her nightmare, with a start. She then sees<br />

a call from Ben, but doesn’t pick it up.<br />

Leo then calls and she picks up his call.<br />

Leo says he has Ben for her on the line,<br />

she tells him to make some excuse for her<br />

not picking up. Ben then informs Kate<br />

that she has to go to Lake Tahoe where<br />

there is a client waiting for her. Meanwhile,<br />

after spending the night together<br />

Kate discusses with Justin how it’s not a big deal for two divorced people to be sleeping together.<br />

On the way to Lake Tahoe tells Kate that, his client is trying to build a casino between the<br />

state border of Nevada and California and a jurisdictional dispute is holding up construction.<br />

Ben then tells her she would be acting as a magistrate, because a federal judge has appointed<br />

her one, based on her reputation. Hence she will decide which agency gets the crime scene, and<br />

manages to shock Kate by informing her that there is a possible crime scene. There have been<br />

bones that have been found in the area, and the agencies are basically police departments. She<br />

later meets the sheriff’s from both the states. The Nevada police found an ID found on the victim,<br />

which indicates the victim was a 16 year old girl named Carmen who had gone missing a few<br />

years ago.<br />

The Nevada police then tell Kate that the California police wouldn’t let them question the<br />

suspect. The cop from California in turn tells Kate that the suspect is a California resident. It is<br />
