THE IEEEUSA AWARDS<br />
The IEEEUSA Board of Directors has authorized the following for the purpose of recognizing excellence,<br />
outst<strong>and</strong>ing service <strong>and</strong> contributions to professional activities. The awards are administered by the IEEE<br />
USA <strong>Awards</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Recognition</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> <strong>and</strong> have been approved by the IEEE <strong>Awards</strong> Board <strong>and</strong> the IEEE<br />
Board of Directors.<br />
Professional Award Descriptions<br />
1. The IEEEUSA Robert S. Walleigh Distinguished Contributions to Engineering Professionalism Award<br />
To honor members of the engineering profession for longterm dedicated effort <strong>and</strong> outst<strong>and</strong>ing<br />
accomplishments in advancing the aims of IEEE professional activities in the United States.<br />
2. The IEEEUSA Award for Distinguished Public Service<br />
To honor individuals not currently in the practice of engineering for contributions to furthering the<br />
professional goals of IEEE in the United States. (These goals may by furthered by such means as<br />
promulgating laws or regulations benefiting the profession; influencing industrial environments to<br />
foster professionalism; creating curricula or publications designed to enhance<br />
professionalism; <strong>and</strong> other similar activities.)<br />
3. The IEEEUSA Citation of Honor<br />
To honor individuals who have made exemplary contributions toward achieving the aims of<br />
professional activities in the United States.<br />
4. The IEEEUSA Precollege Education <strong>Committee</strong> (PEC) TeacherEngineer Partnership Award<br />
To recognize collaborative activities between K12 teachers <strong>and</strong> technical professionals<br />
who are IEEE members.<br />
5. The IEEEUSA Entrepreneur Achievement Award for Leadership in Entrepreneurial Spirit<br />
To recognize a key individual who has been instrumental in furthering both entrepreneurial growth<br />
<strong>and</strong> spirit in the United States.<br />
6. The IEEEUSA Regional/Divisional Professional Leadership Award<br />
