vegetal-tanned leathers are used for<br />
certain models. What is so special<br />
about these? The tanning process is<br />
carried out using natural agents only,<br />
dispensing with all artificial, synthetic<br />
supplements. Extracts from wood<br />
types such as oak and chestnut or<br />
even rhubarb can occur in the<br />
tanning agents.<br />

Tanning agents are essential for<br />
making animal skin durable. Generally<br />
speaking, chemically produced<br />
tanning agents are used to meet<br />
modern needs. Vegetal tanning<br />
only uses plant-based and natural<br />
extracts. This process is one of the<br />
‘healthiest’. Leather tanned in this<br />
way also protects the skin flora due<br />
to its natural properties. The residue<br />
is easy to recycle and is put to further<br />
use as agricultural fertiliser –<br />
