• S = angular segments as protection for the steel blade against
“undercutting”
• N = saw with hub for flush cuts
• G = noise reduced steel blade
Dry cutting

Application tips:
• Before mounting the saw blade ensure that the machine cannot start (pull out main plug)
• Rotational direction arrow of the saw blade has to match the spindle rotational direction
• Not suitable for grinding – grinding can lead to serious injury through segment break outs
• Saw specification has to be appropriate for the material to be cut
• Do not tilt the saw blade in the cut
• Do not carry out any curved cuts
• Allow cooling down breaks, if saw blade is sparking heavily (use reciprocating cut)
• Use protective clothing
• Do not use too high pressure on the saw blade, weight of machine is sufficient
Pressure to great saw cutting layer overheats
Pressure to low saw cutting layer blunts, diamond grain polishes
HDS-Technology “High Density Sintered”
Patented production process
Without HDS
With HDS
• Dense bond structure – high adhesion to steel core
• Hardened steel core – no wobbeling with heating up – straight cuts
• Large application spectrum – for all current construction materials
Super thin saws – the noticeable difference:
TYROLIT sets standards
The ultimate of the dry cutting saws, the ONLY super thin diamond saw for concrete and building
materials.
Standard Super thin
Maximum easy cutting ability with higher lifetime have made
customers enthusiastic all over the world.
Compromises are not tolerated:
Stability, safety, universal application are absolutely necessary.
Especially with thin saws, these characteristics are of decisive
importance. The reduction of the layer width as well as the steel
blade causes higher loading of the saw.
The development of these saws was only possible through the
special HDS-process.
The result of the development work are saws with 1,2 mm width
for Ø 115 and 125 mm, and 1,9 mm for Ø 180 and 230 mm.
Product advantages:
• Conical segments
• Very short cutting-off times
• Reduced machine load
• Cutting-off without exertion
• Cleaner cutting edges
Noise reduced saws – The audible difference
Noise is a subjective term for sound which is experienced as disturbing. Consequently
noise is not a measurable, defined dimension, but as the noise of perceived sounds. The ear sense has no
natural protection mechanism which prevents the noise having an effect on the ear. While for example eye
pupils become narrower with strong incidence of light, the ear is permanently “switched on to receive”.
As a result, noise is sound which disturbs, irritates, damages health, and can increase the accident danger.
Noise reduced saws from TYROLIT reduce this noise pollution by up to 55 % and as a result make
a considerable more pleasant working possible without loss of performance.
This noise reduction is only possible through the sandwich steel blade developed by TYROLIT.
A core with laser slots (Detenso) achieves a noise reduction of approx. 30%.
Dry cutting

Remedying problems:
Dry cutting blade loses cutting ability:
Causes:
• Specification not suitable for the cutting-off of the material involved
• Saw blade running counter to the prescribed rotational direction
• Cutting depth too great or application in deep cutting without reciprocal movement
• No cooling down phases allowed by excessive sparking of the saw
• Cutting pressure too high or too low
• Machine drive power too low
• Cutting-off materials such as steel, wood, aluminium
Characteristics:
• Cutting layer (segment) or steel blade shows blue discolouration
• Diamond grain protrusion very low (finger nail test)
• Bond thermally deformed (mushroom formation) or broken out
Solution:
• Select suitable application conditions and suitable saw type for application
• Sharpen cutting layer before further use through cuts in a sharpening plate or in abrasive material such
as for example sandstone
Dry cutting saw blade gets cracks:
Causes:
• Saw blade used for lateral grinding (not allowed!!)
• Application in curve cutting
• Saw blade jamming in the cut
• Extremely high cutting pressure
• Saw blade not designed for the application in hand
Characteristics:
• (Hairline) cracks going out from the slot base
Solution:
• Select suitable application conditions and suitable saw type for application
• On no account can a saw blade with cracks be used further
