Following the Roundtable on Continuing Education for the <strong>Architectural</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>ession on September 16,<br />
2005, a Task Force was established to begin working towards greater harmonization <strong>of</strong> continuing<br />
education systems across <strong>Canada</strong>. The Task Force comprises representatives from all provincial<br />
and territorial associations:<br />

At the Roundtable it was agreed to harmonize continuing education systems. Over the course <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>2006</strong>, the Task Force has met by teleconference to revise the Quality Assurance Document and in<br />
particular the definition <strong>of</strong> "core". The Task Force has also been<br />
working towards a common unit <strong>of</strong> measure for Continuing Education<br />
credits: hours and common definition for self-directed and<br />
core (formerly association-directed) activities.<br />
It has been agreed by the Task Force that the <strong>RAIC</strong> will develop<br />
and maintain a Calendar <strong>of</strong> Events listing all the core pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
development courses <strong>of</strong>fered by all the provincial and territorial<br />
associations. This Calendar <strong>of</strong> Events will be displayed on the <strong>RAIC</strong><br />
website with links to the relevant provincial and territorial association<br />
websites for further information on the courses.<br />
