Geelong is a vibrant city of about 300 000 people on Corio Bay, just one hour from Melbourne’s<br />
Central Business District (CBD) by train.<br />
Geelong features a stunning waterfront precinct, renowned wine region, beaches, great shopping <strong>and</strong> has a selection of<br />
restaurants <strong>and</strong> bars, with lots of parks <strong>and</strong> gardens. It is the gateway to the Surf Coast which offers Australia’s best surf<br />
beaches, bustling resort towns, stunning scenery, bush <strong>and</strong> beach walks, lush rainforests <strong>and</strong> spectacular waterfalls. A<br />
20-minute drive will take you to Torquay, the home of iconic surf br<strong>and</strong>s such as Quiksilver <strong>and</strong> Rip Curl, as well as the<br />
famous Bells Beach <strong>and</strong> spectacular Great Ocean Road.<br />

ponds campus<br />
The Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus is a convergence of<br />
coastal <strong>and</strong> city lifestyles. It is on the western edge of the<br />
city <strong>and</strong> features l<strong>and</strong>scaped grounds <strong>and</strong> extensive sporting<br />
facilities. It is <strong>Deakin</strong>’s second largest campus, with 6000<br />
students <strong>and</strong> is home to the <strong>Deakin</strong> Medical School. Services<br />
<strong>and</strong> facilities on campus include lecture theatres, library, 24-<br />
hour computer laboratories, health care services, student<br />
accommodation, a dining room, gym, sports hall <strong>and</strong> shops.<br />

campus<br />
The Geelong Waterfront Campus is <strong>Deakin</strong>’s newest campus.<br />
It is located on Corio Bay in the central business district of<br />
Geelong. Built in 1893, the original buildings have been<br />
extensively renovated to create a modern <strong>and</strong> impressive<br />
campus centre. Today around 2100 students are based at the<br />
Waterfront Campus. It features a 320-seat lecture theatre,<br />
cafeteria, library, bookshop, Computer Aided Design (CAD)<br />
laboratories <strong>and</strong> design studios.<br />
