Free Floating
Snare Drums
With Pearl’s “Free-
Floating System”, there is
no hardware touching the
shell, allowing the shell to
fully resonate. This design
also gives the player
other advantages like the
flexibility to change shells
as easy as changing a batter head.
Free-Floating drums are fitted with Die-cast hoops and
include stainless steel tension rods.

RF Reference 20-Ply Wood Snare Drums
Reference Series wood snare drums feature 20 ply
shells with 6 inner plies of Birch and 14 outer plies of
Maple. The shell’s 45° bearing edge provides minimum
head dampening. All three sizes feature pivoting lugs,
MasterCast die cast hoops, SR-1000 GlideLock strainer,
and UltraSound snares. The SR-1000 GlideLock
strainer features a locking lever that will not disengage
no matter how hard you play. The snare tension knob
also locks to retain snare tension settings.
Special low-friction “bearings” and high precison
castings assure smooth, gliding action.
Available in all six Reference Series finishes.
