PIMLICO
Pimlico’s booming property market
Recent years have seen a rise in property
prices throughout London, with the Pimlico
area being one of the top “hotspots”. D&G
sales director and chief Pimlico estate agent
Alex Leschallas reports that Pimlico property
prices have increased by 45% in the area
between Victoria station and the Thames.
These price surges have been particularly
prominent at the top end of the Pimlico
property market.
Alex says that innovative Douglas & Gordon
estate agents can offer a good mixture of
property for sale in Pimlico, “from mansion
blocks and the old houses in Lord Moore
Street to flat conversions and wonderful
Cubitt-designed houses in garden squares
such as Eaton Square.” The larger properties
in Pimlico boast high ceilings, porticos and
pillars that attract a client base of politicos and
barristers to the area.
Post-war regeneration projects have given the
Pimlico district a wide range of available
property, such as charitable housing projects
and public housing estates that have been
built on the land cleared by wartime bombing
raids. Pimlico also features spacious Victorian
houses subdivided into stylish apartments,
which young professionals find highly
appealing. Local property prices are as
diverse as the accommodation on offer; a flat
for sale in Pimlico will start at £350,000 while
our estate agents say a large and luxurious
mansion could cost investors up to £10
million.
