Inspection of representation of Trade Marks
may, on payment of the prescribed fees, made at
the Trade Marks Registry, between 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday (Except Friday
from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
APPLICATION NUMBERS
In each advertisement the number stated before
the specification of goods indicates the number
of the application.
OPPOSITION
Notice is hereby given that any person
who has grounds of opposition to the
registration of any of the marks advertised
herein according to classes under the
heading “Application Advertised before
Registration” may, within two months from
the date of this Journal, lodge Notice of
Opposition on Form T.M-5 accompanied by
the prescribed fee of Rs.6,000/-.
The period for lodging Notice of
Opposition may be extended by the Registrar
if he thinks so and upon such terms as he
may direct.
Request for extension of time shall always
bear the reference the name of prospective
opponent and the number of Trade Marks, if
any, to be made basis of opposition.
It is desirable that formal opposition
should not be lodged until notice has been
given by letter to the applicant for
registration, so as to afford him an
opportunity of withdrawing his application
before the expense of preparing the Notice
of Opposition is incurred. Failure to give
such notice may be taken into account in
considering any application by an opponent
for an order of costs if the opposition is
uncontested by the applicants.
