6. To console <strong>the</strong> patient in any way possible <strong>is</strong> Sunnat. For example one should say to him that<br />
Insha‐ Allah you will recover very quickly, Allah Ta’ala <strong>is</strong> <strong>the</strong> Most Powerful. One should not say<br />
such things which will instil fear in <strong>the</strong> sick person. (M<strong>is</strong>hkaat, pg. 137)<br />
7. When v<strong>is</strong>iting <strong>the</strong> sick one should say <strong>the</strong> following:<br />
Trans: Do not become worried as th<strong>is</strong> sickness will be a means <strong>of</strong> cleaning you from your sins, if<br />
Allah Ta’ala w<strong>is</strong>hes.<br />
Thereafter recite th<strong>is</strong> seven times for h<strong>is</strong> recovery:<br />
Trans: I ask Allah Ta’ala who <strong>is</strong> All Powerful and <strong>the</strong> Lord <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Great Throne that He grants you<br />
recovery. Rasulullah ( ) has stated that <strong>by</strong> reading th<strong>is</strong> dua seven times <strong>the</strong> sick person<br />
will be cured. However, if <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> h<strong>is</strong> death has approached than nothing can delay that.<br />

SUNNATS OF TRAVELLING<br />
1. As far as possible, <strong>the</strong>re should be at least two people toge<strong>the</strong>r when undertaking any journey.<br />
Travelling alone should be avoided. However, in extreme necessity <strong>the</strong>re <strong>is</strong> no harm. ( Fathul‐<br />
Baari‐Vol‐ 6,pg. 53)<br />
2. When one has placed one’s foot in <strong>the</strong> stirrup <strong>of</strong> one’s conveyance and <strong>is</strong> about to mount it, one<br />
should say (<br />

3. After settling down on <strong>the</strong> conveyance say: ( ) thrice and <strong>the</strong>reafter recite <strong>the</strong> following<br />
dua:<br />

Trans: Glory be to <strong>the</strong> one who has subjugated th<strong>is</strong> for us whereas we were not able to<br />
subjugate it on our own. And we will certainly be returning to our Lord.<br />
