<strong>Marks</strong> <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>for</strong> <strong>phase</strong> 4 <strong>and</strong> <strong>phase</strong> 6 <strong>apprentice</strong> <strong>trades</strong><br />

Result allocation <strong>for</strong> individual module components<br />

Each assessment (practical, written, drawing, or other) determines if a number of responses<br />

considered as essential or desirable responses are offered <strong>for</strong> each module component examined.<br />

Each module component under assessment will be recorded with one of the following results:<br />

- A c<strong>and</strong>idate will be returned a P grade once the module component is satisfactorily<br />

completed. A c<strong>and</strong>idate is exempt from further examination in a module component once a<br />

pass result is returned.<br />

- A c<strong>and</strong>idate will be returned a C grade once the module component is satisfactorily completed<br />

at the level required <strong>for</strong> a C grade. Results that allow reporting a Credit result in specific<br />

module components are reported in part 2 below. A Credit result may only be attained at the<br />

first attempt. A c<strong>and</strong>idate is exempt from further examination in a module component once a<br />

credit result is returned.<br />

- A c<strong>and</strong>idate will be returned an X grade where the module component is not satisfactorily<br />

completed. A c<strong>and</strong>idate is required to repeat such module components. Such ef<strong>for</strong>t will be<br />

counted as an attempt.<br />

- A c<strong>and</strong>idate will be returned an A grade where the c<strong>and</strong>idate is absent from the module<br />

component assessment despite making application to take the assessment. A c<strong>and</strong>idate is<br />

required to repeat such module components. Such ef<strong>for</strong>t will be counted as an attempt.<br />

- A c<strong>and</strong>idate will be returned a D grade where the c<strong>and</strong>idate is absent from the module<br />

component assessment despite making application to take the assessment, but provides<br />

certification to support the absence. A c<strong>and</strong>idate is required to repeat such module<br />

components. Such ef<strong>for</strong>t will not be counted as an attempt.<br />

- A c<strong>and</strong>idate will be returned a grade of N in the event of the c<strong>and</strong>idate being notified <strong>for</strong> the<br />

examination but the c<strong>and</strong>idate did not respond or attend.<br />
