Set the stage <strong>for</strong> this winner with location, pot frame and ivy<br />
Location:<br />
Unobstructed north kitchen windowsill<br />
Topiary Components<br />
Ivy: Long Runners<br />
Leaf size and shape in scale with frame and pot<br />
Frame: Sturdy galvanized plastic coated wire frame with a good base <strong>for</strong> anchoring<br />
Pot: Good drainage hole<br />
All three components must flow as one<br />
<strong>AIS</strong><br />
<strong>not</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>reprint</strong><br />
Planting Method <strong>for</strong> Open Frame Topiary<br />
Position ivy in pot that has good drainage material and soil mix<br />
Place frame in position with care. Do <strong>not</strong> trap runners under frame<br />
Plan placement of runners on frame <strong>for</strong> even coverage<br />
Wind and/or tie runners to frame. Use fishing line to tie runners<br />
Take care <strong>not</strong> to trap leaves between stem and frame<br />
Take care <strong>not</strong> to tie runners too tightly to the frame<br />
