Melbourne and stopped<br />

at various stores to<br />

per<strong>for</strong>m. Steve Ferrone<br />

was also involved in a<br />

clinic tour per<strong>for</strong>ming<br />

to audiences of all<br />

doing clinics while on<br />

their tours. In London,<br />

Stanton per<strong>for</strong>med at the<br />

“Drummer Live” event, which is<br />

Europe’s largest public drum and<br />

percussion show.<br />

On a very sad note, long-time <strong>Gretsch</strong> endorsee,<br />

Bruce Gary, passed away at the age of 54 after<br />

losing his battle with lymphoma. Bruce was<br />

best known as The Knack’s original drummer<br />

and <strong>for</strong> his un<strong>for</strong>gettably ferocious drum beat of<br />

their #1 hit “My Sharona.” In addition to being<br />

a producer and recording artist, he was also<br />

known <strong>for</strong> his work with George Harrison, Bob<br />

Dylan and Stephen Stills. He worked with blues<br />

Bruce Gary<br />

masters Albert Collins, Albert King and John Lee<br />

Hooker and toured with <strong>for</strong>mer Eagles member Randy Meisner and<br />

with Spencer Davis. Bruce also produced the CD of drum samples<br />

“Bruce Gary’s Drum Vocabulary” which are popular in professional<br />

and home recording studios. He was a key part of the <strong>Gretsch</strong> family<br />

<strong>for</strong> many years, Bruce will be missed by all of us.
