FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT

God himself will give a sign: a virgin shall
conceive and bear a son.
Today’s readings remind us that God has been
faithful to the covenant promises he made to this
Chosen People, Israel. Christ is the long awaited
Emmanuel-God with us!
LITURGY OF THE WORD
Isaiah recalls the promise God made to Israel and to
the royal house of David: a virgin shall conceive
and bear a son. Paul, writing to the Romans, sets
out on his mission to proclaim the Risen Christ to
the Gentiles. Matthew tells how Joseph, espoused
to Mary, comes to know that the child she has
conceived is the fulfillment of the promise.

St. Vincent de Paul said “ We must worry more
about enlarging The Kingdom of God than adding
to our own possessions”. Your donations in the
poor box help the needy and the poor in our parish
and our community.
