These very large capacity disk drives provide the best cost/GB plus many advanced features for
secondary online storage. 500GB capacity and a choice of 3Gb SATA and ATA/133 interfaces.
Designed for mean time to failure of 1 million hours (based on a statistical sample) for nearline
applications. MaXLine Pro 500 drives are an ideal choice for companies that need to maintain
reference storage online as a supplement to frequently accessed online data. In addition to
supplementing traditional backups with disk-to-disk-to-tape options, the drives make possible
additional data protection options such as point-in-time copies, snapshot clones and
remote replication. RoHS compliant versions of MaXLine Pro 500 are available.

Introducing MaXLine III drives—extra-large, durable ATA disk drives with better speed and
density than tape or optical solutions for secondary online applications such as reference
storage and data protection applications. Maxtor uses a proprietary process to build and test
a select group of drives that achieve a MTTF rated at one million hours for nearline
applications. Ideal for 24x7 secondary on-line applications where cost per GB and storage
density are critical parameters. MaXLine III features 7200 RPM, capacities of 250 and 300GB,
9.0ms average seek time, SATA 1.5 Gb / 3.0 Gb and PATA interfaces, a 16MB buffer and a fiveyear
limited warranty. RoHS compliant versions of MaXLine III are available.
